Lekki Peninsula, simply known as Lekki, is an upper middle income residential area in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria. It adjoins the commercial Victoria Island district and another residential area of Ikoyi. Lekki has got a reputation as an area with one of the most expensive real estate assets in the world. The Lekki area was formerly known as Maroko, a slum, before it was destroyed by the Raji Rasaki led state military government in Lagos. ==Education== Lekki British School, a British international school, is in Lekki.
